Awards
The Model A Ford Youth Scholarship Fund, Inc. announced the
awarding of our seventh annual scholarships to deserving
MAFCA/MARC members' children/grandchildren at the 3rd
MARC/MAFCA World Model A Ford Meet in Dallas, Texas, in
June 2008.
The total awarded in Scholarships since our first awards
in 2002 is $122,000 to 32 deserving recipients. Our winners for all
seven years represent 18 states, and include Alabama, Arizona,
California, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan,
Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon,
Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Due to the generous donations of MAFCA, MARC, some of the
MAFCA Chapters, some of the MARC Regions, chapter/region
members and various fundraising efforts of these same parties, we
are able to present scholarships to these wonderful
MAFCA/MARC youth.
For 2008, we are pleased to announce that six deserving applicants
are being awarded Scholarships. Winning Scholarships are:
Amanda Uthe, Camas, Washington
Clark County Flying Eagle A's, who will be attending Wyoming
Tech;
Ryan Thibeault, Stafford, New Hampshire
Pine Tree Model A Ford Club of Maine, who will be attending the
University of New Hampshire majoring in Mechanical
Engineering;
Richard Evans, Jr., Trussville, Alabama
MARC of Alabama, who will be attending Auburn University
majoring in History;
Jeffrey Fink, Kingwood, Texas
Piney Wood A's, who will be attending Kansas State University
majoring in Mechanical Engineering;
Adam Smith, Charlotte, Michigan
Mid-Michigan Model A's, who will be attending the University of
Northwestern Ohio majoring in Automotive Technology;
James Hopper, Gilbert, Arizona
Arizona Traveling A's, who will be getting his BA from Arizona
State University.
Each of these winners will receive $1,000 checks each year for up
to four years to help pay for their undergraduate education.
We congratulate all the Scholarship winners of 2008 and wish them
and our prior Scholarship winners, as well as those who were not
awarded scholarships this year, success in their educational efforts,
as well as their future plans.

The 2004 winners were Brice Peters of Salem OR, Tyler Garsick of Stow MA, and Rebecca Varco of Bend OR.
The 2003 winners were Matthew Holleran of Mohawk NY, Curtis French of Fillmore CA, Chana Borel of Salem MO, Cory Cress of Issaquah WA, and Julie MacDonald of Framingham MA.
